Presents: Gianni Brizzi
Edited by Erminia Scarcella
Gianni offered us a tour of central and suburban Milan through the centuries, illustrating buildings, urban planning and works of art from Roman times. The presentation ended with the new international architecture that distinguishes the present and future development of our ever-growing metropolis.
A few notes about our speaker:
Gianni Brizzi is an urban architect. After graduating from the Milan Polytechnic, he completed his academic training with courses in economics and finance in London and Paris. At the end of 1974, Gianni left Italy to work at the World Bank. His professional career has led him to manage loans in multiple investment sectors in over 20 countries and on 4 different continents. In recent years, he has held executive responsibilities for the World Bank's activities in North Africa and the Middle East. In his life, Gianni has never practiced the profession of architect but his passion was and remains architecture. Always and especially since he stopped working, Gianni often travels not only in the United States and Europe but all over the world to visit new cities and learn about their urban fabrics and their buildings. He has a website on the internet called "archimecum". On this site Gianni has documented the results of some of his visits.
